Chinese Summer Camps

Chinese Immersion Summer Camp 2012 -- Scottsdale Airpark

Location:Thunderbird Christian Elementary 7410 E. Sutton Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona 85260

Description:
1. For children age groups 3-5 & 6-12.
2. Learning and activities: Chinese language, Chinese crafts, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese Movies, Chinese Yo-yo, Tai-ji Fan Dance, Games, Chinese food.
3. Children can sign up for 1-8 weeks, with both full day and half day schedules available.
4. At the end of each 4-week session, children will have a performance for parents.

Session Dates &Themes:
Session I (4 weeks): June 4 – June 29 -- Chinese Traditional Festivals/Family – Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival, and Moon Festival; Family Names and Relationships, Rules of Etiquette; Chinese Family Culture.
Session II (4 weeks): July 2 – July 27-- Chinese Geography/ Chinese Food – Famous Places in China (The Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Army, etc.); Chinese Food.

Hours & Tuition
Full Day: 8:30am – 3:00 pm ($228 per week; ) (Open on 4th of July.)
Half Day: 8:30am- 12:00 pm ($198 per week) (Open on 4th of July.)

Extended Hours
Moring: 7:30- 8:30am $8 per hour, or $150 per session (4 weeks)
Afternoon: 3:00 – 5:30pm $8 per hour or $300 per session (4 weeks)
Siblings receive a 10% tuition discount for the same registered weeks!

Materials are included; Friday Lunch/Snacks are included.
Thursdays: Water Day - Water Pool.
Fridays: Dumpling Day - Cook and enjoy Chinese dumplings.
Lunch & Snack: Students bring their own lunch, snack and drink Monday through Thursday.
The costumes for the end session performance are free.
Registration deadlines: Session I, Monday May 21, 2012; Session II, Monday June 4, 2012.

Tuition will not be refunded after the camp has started.

Class meets on Mondays 7:00 -- 9:00 pm, beginning June 11, 2012.

(1) To establish a vocabulary sufficient for basic conversation in Mandarin.
(2) To develop reading and writing proficiency in Chinese Pinyin.
(3) To achieve a basic understanding of Chinese culture.

Adult Chinese Fall 2011, Level 101 (2 hours Per Lesson, Twice a Week, 6 Weeks)
Adult Rate: $175; Middle School/High/College Student Rate: $165
Textbook: Integrated Chinese Level I Part I, 3rd Edition (Self Purchase)
Class meets on Tuesdays 7:00 -- 9:00 pm, beginning June 12, 2012.

(3) To gain understanding of Chinese culture.
